Our Story

Stronger Together grew from a simple belief: We shouldn't have to navigate life's hardest moments alone.

This work is personal to me. My own life experiences have shown me what it feels like when you're working hard, raising a family, and still trying to figure out how to make everything work—with no guidance, support, or hope. Those experiences shaped how I see our community and the way I help others today.

Growing up in Des Moines, raising my family here, and working in both community health and acute healthcare settings, I've experienced seasons of success, struggle, and loss—many of the same realities our friends, family, and neighbors face every day. Through it all, I've learned that help can exist and still be incredibly difficult to find, understand, or access.

I've also learned that people don't always need another list of phone numbers. Sometimes what makes the biggest difference is having someone beside you who will listen, understand what you actually need, help you understand your options, advocate when needed, and know where to look for the right support.

Over the years, I became someone people reached out to when they didn't know where to turn or how to navigate the systems in front of them. Sometimes that meant helping someone navigate their healthcare. Other times, it meant recognizing a gap and helping bridge it before it became a bigger barrier, stepping in with an everyday need, or knowing not only where to look for help, but who to ask when life put another challenge in our path.

Stronger Together Community Collective was created to be that connection in our community—bringing people, resources, education, advocacy, and support together so no one has to figure it all out alone.

Because when we feel supported, informed, and empowered, our whole community becomes stronger.

After all, we are Stronger Together.
